A Walk In The Park

We enjoyed our first trip to our new neighborhood park tonight and the kids loved it! And I am just loving these new summer days where it doesn't start getting dark till like eight at night. I am not the biggest fan of summer to be honest, if you know me at all you know I hate, I mean I can NOT stand the heat (and no I am not just being dramatic). And not a beach fan either, ironic because I have a beach loving surfer husband. So if I have to find something about summer I like it is summer nights. I love love love summer night walks. I also love BBQing dinner and eating in the backyard while relaxing and chatting it up with my hubbie into the night.
The twins had a great time strolling down the walking paths, playing on the jungle gym and Josh (not really Katelyn) loved the slide. I am looking forward to more trips to the park this summer. And Charlotte was pretty cute as well. She just sat in her stroller kicking her little legs and making noises as if just begging to get out and join the fun. Soon enough I am sure.
Katelyn's first ride down a slide!
Josh was loving the slide!!!
Charlotte was dying to get in on the fun. Don't worry a few more months Charlotte and you'll be running around with the twins :)

Stop and Smell the Roses

One thing I have fallen in love with in our new house are the beautiful rose bushes the previous owners left in the backyard. I was never a rose person before but these beautiful roses have inspired me to start googling how to grow, take care and maintain roses. Apparently roses thrive and grow amazing out here and that is why if you take walks down my neighborhood most house have them in their front yard. And thanks to Kurt we have them in the front yard too, Kurt planted about seven white and orange/red roses bushes for me under the windows over the weekend along with lots of green bushes and it looks beautiful.I am just loving opening all my big giant windows in the morning and taking in the awesome view. I am also loving picking fresh flowers and putting them in a vase on my island, I feel like Bree from Desperate Housewives. I think I am living the good life.

4 Months

I am playing catch up a little bit. But a couple weeks ago Charlotte had her well baby 4 month appointment and at that time she was a perfect 13.8 pounds. Charlotte is just right around the 50th percentile for length and weight. Charlotte is babbling to me all day now and is rolling all over the place. I simply just can not believe how fast she is growing.I am currently in the process of studying a pill that will keep her small. My mom was never able to do so but I am confident I can :)
I think Charlotte just might also be the happiest baby in the world. She has been laughing and smiling since two months and I can't even change that girl without her cracking up and curling into a ball because everything seems to be just so funny to our Charlotte girl. I often tell Kurt that Charlotte is happiness is the form of a baby. Katelyn is loving her baby Charlotte, she even bounces her in her bouncy chair and Josh loves Charlotte as well. Josh is so gentle with her and if Charlotte cries, Josh often burst into tears as well because Charlotte crying upsets him so much. Our sweet Charlotte is healthy and happy and changing everyday.

An Afternoon at the Nursery

Kurt and I spent Friday afternoon at a local nursery with the kids picking out the plants and bushes we wanted for our front yard, which by the way looks awesome thanks to my hubbie working all day Sunday on it :) The weather was gorgeous and whenever the weekend rolls around I am so completely anxious to get out of the house and get some fresh air. At this time in my life with twins who are just barely 16 months and a 4 month old baby it is more work then it is worth get out for a walk. I mean if I am really rushing it would still take me thirty minuets to get all three kiddos ready and loaded and not to mention it is quit amusing to be walking down the street with a double stroller and a baby in a Bjorn carrier. This actually was the case a few days ago when I had to pick Kurt up, twins in double stroller and Charlotte strapped to my chest. Needless to say I must have been stopped four times by people in just the parking lot. Everyone thinks they are triplets, nope twins and a newbie, close though.
And thanks to Grandma and Grandpa making the trip down to our new house (which they have been every weekend!) Kurt and I were able to get so much stuff done that would have taken twice as long it we had the kids with us. Oh and big news, Kate said her first official word beside Mama and Dada. Drum roll please............Buh Bye! It was completely adorable. And of course who did she say it to? GRANDMA!!!! Just like her first steps were taken with GRANDMA. What is it about Grandma that Katelyn just waits to do all her first in front of her. Honestly I think it is too cute and special.

Mommy and Charlotte

Katelyn and Josh a little grumpy because they did not want to be in the stroller and no Josh was not having shoes that day. Oh well I am learning very quickly to pick my battles.
Ok I gave in and let her out, it was all going fine until she tripped and her little hands actually touched dirt. Not a nature girl I guess?

Next thing I'll be asking Kurt to plant in the backyard :)

Daddy and Charlotte girl, she is loving the nursery!

Mothers Day

It is hard to believe that one year ago I was celebrating my very first Mothers Day with my new twin babies and also had just found out to our great surprise that by this time next year we would be celebrating Mothers Day with yet another new addition to our family, well our Charlotte is here and oh how wonderful it is to be a mommy of three this Mothers Day. We hosted a Mothers Day/House Warming party at our new home on Saturday with my family. We had a great time like always, great food, great people, some really nice house warming gifts for us and lots of flowers for Mothers Day. Unfortunately the twins were and still are super sick with the flu so they were unable to join the party. This is the first time the twins have actually been really sick except for the typical low grade fever from teething. It is so super sad all they want to do is cuddle and sleep all day and night. Twins are double the love, double the fun but also double the sickness, not one but two sick babies. So when Sunday rolled around on actual Mothers Days it was a little sad because the house seemed so very quiet with Katelyn and Josh just sleeping through the day. That being said Charlotte is more then ok, she is the happiest baby and I am pretty she is just loving the whole lot of extra attention she is getting while Josh and Katelyn sleep all day and night.
Kurt always does a nice job for Mothers Day. First he got me my absolute favorite flowers, pink peonies, I love love love peonies. I slept in and woke up to a very clean house that wasn't so clean when I went to bed after the Mothers Day party on Saturday, breakfast was made and the rest of the day was for cuddling on the couch and watching movies with the babies. It was a very much needed day of relaxing because we have literally been spending every extra minuet putting our new house together, which has paid off. I finally feel like it's my home and I can get on a routine again. So no pictures of the Josh and Kate since they were sick but I got a few of Miss Charlotte all dress up in her party dress in Saturday. I hope all my Mommy friends and Family had a wonderful and special Mothers Day.
