Home Sweet Home

Well I realized this weekend that I have not put up any pictures of our new home. Our family has already been here just over two months and we are loving it! I am loving all the extra room we have, 3000 square feet! It is also a pretty new home at only 4 years old, but was only lived in for just over a year before the previous owners unfortunately lost it of course do to the housing crash. We have four bedrooms, so the babies all have their own rooms and three full baths, so Josh does not have to share with his sisters, he will thank us later big time for that one. My favorite part of the house, well I have a couple favorite parts but I think the part I love the most about this house right now is it is a one story. I have not had to go up and down the stairs to do laundry, give babies baths and put the down for naps and bedtime for two months and I am loving it. I also love my huge master bath, now I know what people are talking about when they say go take a relaxing bath, it's like my own little spa. I love my crazy big walk in closest and the fact that the house is a open floor plan. The kitchen opens right up to the family room. And I know many moms can appreciate that since we spend a big chunk of the day in the kitchen and it is so nice to still feel part of the family while cooking and cleaning up. Kurt and I are in love with our house. And after what was a long and drawn out escrow we had we now sit in our beautiful home and feel so blessed that we will have a awesome, paid off:) place in California to retire in! We have lots to still do to the house, nothing major just the fun stuff, oh man I am sounding old, hahaha, Like it is so much fun to shop for new barstools and dining room sets on the weekend and maybe even a trip to Costco and Lowes would be so much fun as well......yeah.
So I really have only finished the kids bedrooms and they were super fun to do.
Joshua's Room
I wanted to do Josh's room in kind of a vintage, all amercian boy look. I love his room. I love that I can keep collecting things and adding to it. His room is very special, there are a lot of special items scattered through his room. Some of the toys on the shelves were his Great Uncle Craigs, like the Match Box Cars and tool box. The little chair by the window was made by my Great Grandfather out of rail rode ties. The old bear on the shelves was my Grandmothers when she as little. The high school lettermans jacket hanging next to the window was my dads aka Grandpas and the letterman jacket on the shelf was his my moms with the first football Kurt gave in lying on it. Kurts first dress blues cover (hat) from bootcamp is on the shelf as well, next to some little toy Army men I scattered next to it. And the flag folded on top was a actual flag the was flown on Camp Pendleton and was retired. My moms push car from when she was a little girl is by the window and is in the middle of and waiting to be restored by Kurt. I have more ideas and I hope to collect more special items as well.

Katelyn's Room
Katelyn's room is bright, cheerful, happy and I think it screams Katelyn. I bought her bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. I was looking for something that would last me just a couple years till she moved up into a "big girl bed" so I basically picked out her bedding because it was on sale. Well I ended up loving it! The sheets are adoralable with pink, green and yellow cottages all over them. So I just kind of ran with that theme after I fell in love with her sheets. She is completely obssesed with the playhouse by the window, she loves strolling her baby around in the stroller and taking her toys out and putting them away in the house. I love the big giant flower decals on the walls as well as the cottage decal. Her name with flowers around it and hanging flower mobile turned out pretty cute as well.

Charlotte's Room
A room fit for a princess. When I was pregnant with Charlotte the twins were still sharing a room because life was easier that way. What I did miss with that though was getting to do the most fun thing in the world a little girl nursery! So basically I wanted the most pink and girly room I could have, a pink princess room of course. And that is what I gave her. My favorite thing in Charlottes room is the little girl dress form in the corner that I accessorized with pearls, ribbon and flowers. The girls also love the butterfly mobile above the rocking chair that is always fluttering around thanks to the ceiling fan.

Girls Bathroom

The girls share a Jack and Jill bathroom that connects their rooms. Just like their rooms it is pink and fit for girly girls.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day Kurt! Not only are you a wonderful husband but you are a awesome dad. Just a year and a half ago it was just you and me babe and now you are a daddy of three. Josh, Katelyn and Charlotte are so lucky to have you as their daddy and by the way they light up when you come home they know it. You are most definitely the preferred parent to go run,go crazy and play with. You are best tickle monster in the house. And when they need a few extra cuddles before they go to bed you are there to rock them to sleep. You have always been there for your family from the day our beautiful babies were born. We love you so much, Happy Fathers Day to the most amazing dad there is.

SeaWorld

Thanks to Kurt being active duty military we once again enjoyed our annual trip to Seaworld! I can not believe that when we were at SeaWorld just over a year ago the twins were so super tiny and little did I know little Charlotte was in the making. I have to say this years trip was way more fun. The twins are up and running around EVERYWHERE and they had such a great time looking at all the big giant fish in the aquariums. We even got to have a sneek preview of the new sea turtle exibit. And well if you want my honest opinion is was cute but nothing special. They basically removed the manetees (which I loved) and replaced them with sea turtles. But who doesn't love sea turtles, right? All they were missing was a Nemo clown fish and a Dory fish, that would have been cute.
We had a great day, the weather was amazing, the kids were great and we alway save the best for last. Our favorite resturant...... Phils BBQ!!!!

What a difference a year makes!
