It is just hard to imagine that one year ago Kurt and I were enjoying our Christmas watching movies (since I was on no fun bedrest) and dreaming about what the babies in my tummy and what they were going to look like and dreaming about holding them in our arms and now there are here. They have grown into the most beautiful son and daughter I could have ever hoped for. We could not imagine life without them and words also can not describe the love and the the joy that they bring both Kurt and I. We have truly enjoyed everyday this year that we have spent with them watching them grow. Sometimes I think back to when I just brought them home from the hospital and miss the days when I was able to just snuggle them for hours and they would sleep on my chest like a hot water bottle so tiny. But then we are also having so much fun enjoying this new stage, where the babies are moving everywhere and have so much personality!!!!! They seriously make Kurt and I laugh on a daily basis. Katelyn has a great spunky and sassy personality that I love. She is super curious, has a competitive side, if she can not figure something out she gets so very frustrated throws her little hands up into the air until she gets it then is so very proud of herself when she does get it and wants to show the world. I have noticed that Katelyn loves attention and also loves to make others laugh. She has the most adorable twinkle smile in the world and also has her Uncle Mike's Smirk.... like she is up to no good. She is super smart and intelligent. I love my daughter she is amazing and the thought that she was given to Kurt and I specifically from god amazes me!
Josh is so opposite of Katelyn in so many ways and I love him just as much for it. He is much more quiet then our little chatter box of a daughter who talks talks and talks to anyone willing to listen even if it is just herself, but when he does say(babel) something to you, you know he has been thinking about it for awhile and its very meaningful, I can't explain it very well but it has alot to with the way he always looks you right in the eyes when he talks to you. On a little side note that babies have been "talking" to each other in their own little language for a couple months now that I hear when they are in their cribs at night or in the morning when they wake up and also in the playroom, it just makes my heart melt, it is what having twins is all about. He is so gentle and loves to look and touch face like he never wants to forget any detail of it. Josh can enjoy and be content with one single toy for a hour, examining every detail on it and figuring out just how everything works on it as well. And what has to be my favorite personality trait of Josh that I love so very much is the fact that making Josh happy is just so easy, he is such a happy baby! All you need to do is tickle that boy, bounce him up and down or he loves when I make fake sneezing noises ......seriously it never fails to get a big laugh out of him. He is such a lover and is so happy to have you just sit in the playroom with him watching him as he plays, he loves to be around Kurt and I and we just love him so much too.
Kurt and I love each other more then anything and had an amazing first five years of marriage, then a year ago god blessed us with beautiful boy and girl twins which has been the best thing to ever happen to us. We love Josh and Katelyn so very much and are looking forward to watching them grow even more and seeing what next year has in store for our two little twinsies!
Get ready for birthday party picture overload!!!
