Our little family Christmas

Kurt and I hosted Christmas for the family at our house this year and it was wonderful. It was wonderful waking up and not having to go anywhere, which meant for us staying in our comfy clothes all day. When the kids woke up Kurt and I gave them there stockings to open. I like so many other parents am always so amused how happy they are with their dollar section toys and treats toys and treats. Really in many ways just as happy with those little trinkets then the big ones we give them. After opening the stockings Kurt and I got brunch ready for the family that was coming over. I absolutely love brunch, it is the best of both worlds breakfast and lunch and savory and sweet, yummy!
After stuffing ourselves we had all the kids opens their presents. With three of the four kids birthdays within nine days of Christmas I really tried to put a limit on toy presents. After much thought I decided a stocking full of treats and little toys and two bigger nicer presents for each child would be enough for this year. The week leading up to Christmas I was starting to over think and worry if  I had bought them each enough. Well Christmas day came and I got my answer. Two presents times four kids is eight gifts alone just from Kurt and I under our tree. Then you add in all Grandma and Grandpa's presents and all of the Aunt and Uncle's presents and the living room was swarming with toys! I remember running upstairs to grab something out of the nursery and on the way down stopping and looking down at what looked like a tornado had ripped through our living and dispersed toys and wrapping paper everywhere and I remember smiling. What a wonderful Christmas for a child, pretty special just like the ones in the movies.
Kate was spoiled with Disney princess gifts galore! Disney princess dolls, dresses, lip glosses, books and glittery fruity body sprays and I could go on! Josh had an amazing Christmas, he received a TON of cars and trucks that all made really neat sounds which are his absolute favorite. Josh can literally play with cars and trucks for hours and I love that about him.
Charlotte received a bunch of toys that it  was obvious the givers of her gifts had put a lot of thought into what our special Miss Charlotte would like. The truth is Charlotte can be a bit difficult to buy for. When people ask I always tell them anything with buttons, she loves pushing buttons over and over again. She received a hilarious purple monkey puppet that by the end of Christmas night Kurt's poor hand was killing him from playing with that monkey, Charlotte could not get enough of it.
As always every Christmas I have my husband home is a very special one. I cherish every memory of our family together on these holidays. I know the years will go by far too quickly and while they are still kids Kurt and I want to make wonderful Christmas memories for them to remember someday when they have kids of their own, just like I can remember having growing up on Raintree Lane :)
