Birthday Cake and Pumpkins

This year was a very special birthday for me for a couple reasons. One it was the first birthday being a Mommy and two it was the first birthday Kurt wasn't either working or deployed, I had him home all to myself. And Kurt did a very good job in making it special for me. He starting off by taking the babies in the morning and letting me sleep in, oh that was really the only present I needed...priceless... then making me a yummy breakfast. After breakfast I took a nap (yes I was going to take advantage of this sleep thing while I could) then woke up packed the kids up and headed to Irvine park for the cute pumpkin patch they have there during October, everything from pumpkins, train and tractor rides and miniature ponies. The babies loved crawling around in the hay and all over the big huge pumpkins, which made for some really cute pictures. After the pumpkin patch Kurt had packed yet another yummy meal our lunch and we had our first picnic with the babies. The awesome part was my birthday was on a weekday so the park was not busy at all and we had a whole grassy spot to ourselves. The night was finished up after the babies went to sleep with cake a some precious presents from Kurt. Ahhhhh.....it was such a nice and relaxing birthday with my family, I couldn't have asked for a better one.
A couple days later we let the babies paint their very first little pumpkins (since I think carving might be kind of hard at nine months!)And what little pieces of art did they turn out to be. And of course they had fun getting all messy and now when they finger paint they tend to try and eat some of the paint as well! Thank goodness for non toxic paint and I don't believe they enjoyed the taste all that much either, but once again this made for really cute pictures as well.
